Branding on the web can be guilty of being somewhat deviant. Designers seem to believe that as soon as your image moves to the virtual world, normal rules no longer apply and your virtual image can be quite different from your normal corporate image. Quite the contrary is in fact the case. Your average Internet wanderer is far from computer savvy, and has been subject to all forms of virtual trickery and dishonesty, and does not generally trust the environment in which they find themselves. Corporate Image therefore falls under 'vitally' in the realms of importance on web design. Your site should, just as a non-virtual brochure, be instantly recognizable as yours. At Syntarsus, we have over 15 years experience with corporate image design and branding, and offer a complete and true extension of your real world image, at the same time as offering one that takes advantage of all the benefits of the virtual world.

Corporate Image Creation
Your logo is the base of your entire image. It should be instantly recognisable in the sea of options available to your potential customers. The more recognisable it is, the more it will appear to Joe Public, as its recognisability is directly related to how often your potential customer acknowledges its presence. A big factor in this is the logo's complexity. For the most part, people prefer simplicity, and understand it better. Simple, familiar shapes are easily stored in the brain, so there is a greater chance that yours will be remembered if you obey these principals.
Your company's corporate image should be of paramount importance to you. It is true to say that first impressions last, and the full weight of that life's lesson carries to the business world. Not only is it important for you to come across as professional in person but so too must you do so on paper and in digital forms.
Beyond your logo, your image needs to be reinforced constantly, which means that everything should contain an element of your image. If your image contains a gold band, as an example, then the opening of one of your new stores might be done using a gold ribbon. Nothing should be just done without linking it to the image. An unclear, or unsecured image comes across as wishy washy, and unfortunately the human imagination will struggle to separate that from the service you may or may not offer. Rules should be set and stuck to without question. If the rules make something look terrible, make sure it is totally unacceptable in its appearance before redefining those rules. New businesses are especially susceptible to this failure, and especially subject to it. If you're not sure about an element of your image, change it early, or learn to work around it, but generally do not mess with an image once its been created. Change a image at most once every 2 years to keep fresh, and definitely not within the first 4 years of trading. Use classic simple fonts that don't age, and never allow anything but those fonts to be used. If at all possible, you want someone to see a letter written in your font and think of your company. Syntarsus employs all of these and many other rules, some of which counter these rules in appropriate circumstances, to develop brands that are strong, reliable, and timeless.
